The fact that for years only the best of the best came to Heerlen is proven by the many top results, champion titles and ace pigeons over the past 25 years. The program pigeons were sold in their entirety via Pitts last year with great success. In this sale we bring a very select group of quality pigeons: proven racing pigeons and summer youngsters descended from national and international winners.
History
Wim Breemen (61) started his pigeon adventure completely independently in his teens. The first year he participated in the races, he was directly among the champions and now, 45 years later, he continues with the same momentum! With a breeding loft based on bloodlines such as Heremans, Gaby Vandenabeele, Lindelauf &zn, Gebr Janssen, Koopman and Hooymans, this could hardly have been otherwise! They raced at top level for years and Wim Breemen became an international concept in the pigeon sport. His pigeons shone in the toughest competitions in the world, Cerafin Europe, loft races in China, etc... As a result, his pigeons were sought after in, among other things. China, Taiwan, England, Germany, Italy, Iraq, Kuwait, USA, France etc...
However, after another hospitalization of Wim and the death of Wim's mother last year, it was decided not to race any more program races, but only the extreme long distance races.
However, Wim's health was also not good in 2022 and various hospital admissions threw a spanner in the works. Still recovering from covid, skin cancer was also diagnosed for which Wim is currently still being treated. In the end, only 2 extreme long distance races were participated, nevertheless with excellent results:

Natural resistance
Originally it was his uncle who taught him the tricks of the trade at a very young age.
Now Wim shares his passion for the pigeon sport with his wife. “It's not in the jar, but in their cup”, is their motto. "You can't make a racehorse out of a donkey." And to start with, Wim is super strict about the health of his pigeons. "Oxygen is the best and cheapest remedy, so the windows of the lofts are open day and night." This does not necessarily mean that no vet is visited, because Wim relies on Norbert Peeters and Vincent Schroeder for medical guidance. Three weeks before the breeding season, the pigeons are examined by one of them and treated if necessary. The same applies to the racing pigeons just before the racing season.
System without much compassion
About 14 pairs of breeders took care of 40 youngsters. They were darkened from the end of March to June 21 and then lit up until the last flight, an extra fifteen minutes each day. The youngsters are trained as follows: 5x over 1 km, then in steps up to 25 km. The old ones immediately go 3 to 4 times to 25 km. The old pigeons are raced on nest as well as on widowhood. To meet the needs of the pigeons, Wim feeds them full bowl every day. We alternate between fly, culture and purification of Paloma. On further flights, peanuts are sometimes provided to fill the tank completely.
Results 2021
2021 became a year of setbacks for Wim due to severe pneumonia and the death of his mother. There was therefore little participation in flights, but the flights that were raced, he finished very nicely:
