Merelbeke, 22/09/2024 Dear East Flanders enthusiasts
For some time now, we have been aware of a general dissatisfaction among the East Flanders enthusiasts regarding the transport costs, doubling fees, and general expenses at the provincial and national races.
Several national entry locations have already been confronted multiple times with various questions regarding these high costs.
The past season, this "issue" became such an important topic of conversation, with even a few local incidents, that some responsible parties sat down together to map things out and investigate.
Ultimately, on Thursday evening, September 19, all national entry locations from East Flanders came together, and the results of this investigation were discussed and explained in detail.
The board members received a complete and detailed overview of the different cost structures that were examined.
After a serene and constructive debate, it was concluded that everything can be much cheaper.
It was unanimously decided to start from the 2025 season with a new structure from the national entry locations.
With the signed membership from the societies in Aalst, Aalter, Eeklo, Lokeren, Merelbeke/Gent, Moerbeke, Ninove, Ophasselt, Ronse, Ruien, St Gillis Waas, Wortegem-Petegem, V.O.V.D. (Association of East Flemish Pigeon Friends) was established.
PE East Flanders has already been informed about this new initiative and all necessary KBDB applications have already been submitted.
All board members were very clearly in agreement on one thing: from 2025, we will work together to ensure that pigeon sport in East Flanders becomes cheaper and more transparent for the associations.
