Thibaud Lesire started playing with pigeons about 25 years ago. The foundation of the beautiful results achieved was the sprint pigeons from the well-known tandem Thibaut-Boons from Sombreffe.
Until 2018, racing was conducted at a high level, including:
1st Provincial Sprint Champion Yearlings KBDB
2nd Provincial Sprint Champion Yearlings KBDB
3rd Provincial Sprint Champion Old KBDB
20th National Sprint Champion KBDB.
At the beginning of 2019, significant changes in his professional life meant that the lab coat had to be temporarily hung up. The opening of a pet and pigeon store under the brand “Poils et Plumes” in Waret-la-chassée Eghezée. Thibaud then made the difficult decision to sell his entire colony, with the exception of three pigeons.
And as is the case with many, the pigeon enthusiasm proved hard to eradicate because once everything was stable at work, he began acquiring pigeons again. He searched for his old lineage and found it among various fanciers who had purchased from his total sale at the time. Additionally, he immediately brought in reinforcements, resulting in the current loft being formed by pigeons with origins from:
- Thibaut-Boons (“Nels”, “Maria”, “Niko”...)
- Wouters Marcel via Boris Burniat (“Den Ad”, “Extreem”, “Leeuw”...)
- Pipa Elite Center via Hadrien Marsille (“Porsche 911”, “Best Kittel”)
- Vrancken-Berden (“Olympic Rico”)
In 2021, a few young pigeons were raced "for fun" and performed more than reasonably well, and in 2022, Thibaud raced only 5 cocks, which immediately earned him several victories and a prize percentage of 75%. The 2023 season started on a low note when his best racer “Le Kev” was taken by a raptor. Thibaud decided not to race the others anymore and to start over with young pigeons from 2023. Despite the busy store and limited time spent on the pigeons, he could still speak of a solid season, as with participation in only 6 races, the young pigeon team achieved 105 prizes from 203 entries, including:
Momignies 303 pigeons: 1,6,7,8,9,10,12,13,20,21,24… (22/36)
Laon 253 pigeons: 9,10,12… (16/33)
Momignies 232 pigeons: 4,26… (16/33)
In 2024, the pigeon racing was taken seriously again with the promising yearlings from ‘23. Immediately, Thibaud found himself ranking among the top prizes in sprint and middle distance. As the icing on the cake, he was flagged with the 2nd Provincial Sprint Champion Yearlings KBDB
