Traditionally, the annual champions celebration of the Gouden Ringen Waasland was held at the Van Der Valk banquet hall in Beveren at the beginning of December. This prestigious competition, which brings together local, provincial, and even national pigeon enthusiasts each year, has proven to be a leading event in the pigeon sport.

What once started as a local initiative has since expanded. Three years ago, it was decided to introduce two additional categories: Superstar Allround and Superstar Vitesse.
These categories, which not only attract pigeon enthusiasts from Waasland, offer a unique opportunity for participants outside the region to win an engraved gold ring.
This year, some notable names indeed went home with the gold, silver, and bronze rings.

At a time when many events within the pigeon circles see a declining turnout, partly due to the aging participant pool, the organizers of the Gouden Ringen Waasland can proudly look back on a successful edition.
The 2024 celebration welcomed nearly 200 participants for a live cooking buffet, along with about 30 visitors who came to collect their well-deserved trophies.
The success of this event is due to the wonderful formula it combines: a festive champions celebration, a dance evening, delicious dishes, and the word-of-mouth promotion that helps the event grow year after year.
The beautiful location, the valuable support of various sponsors, and the positive atmosphere made this edition an event not to be forgotten quickly.
The champions celebration lasted until after midnight and was remembered by most attendees as a particularly successful and positive experience.
