2024 was the first racing season for this new tandem in our sport. Two new faces in our sport that we would like to introduce to you:
Kevin Van der Auwera (34 years) has been involved in the hobby from a young age through his father, Frans Van der Auwera. When Kevin turned 15-16, his interest in the pigeons waned and he made the switch to the world of birds.
It is among these birds that he met the second tandem member, Niel Ravyts (26 years).
Kevin met Niels in 2016 and after years of breeding and exhibiting birds together, Kevin felt in 2023 it was time for a new challenge. Thus said, thus done: the pigeons made their return. Niel followed along with this crazy idea and a year later they certainly have no regrets. Starting in 2025, they will also try to achieve results in the big middle-distance races. Their stock consists of the following names:
Sven Fierens (Rudy Van Reeth), Nivard Van Reeth, Dirk Van den Bulck, Stefaan Lambrechts, Sonia Van der Maelen, Yves De Wit & Leo Heremans. As you can see, not the least of names and this has brought them immediate success or what do you think of the following results:

Flies 2x per 50-strong and 3x per 20-strong without duplication from Quiévrain to Pont-Sainte-Maxence.
BE24-4068897 from the line Greipel/New Kittel/Fantastic Alizee:
Flies 1x per 100-strong, 1x per 50-strong and 2x per 20-strong without duplication at Noyon and Pont-Sainte-Maxence.
BE24-6098628 directly from Robin Van Leuven:
Only learned late, but still flew per 100-strong against more than 3100 pigeons at Noyon.
And this in their first season! The train seems to be well on its way in Outer and we wish Kevin and Niel all the success for the future!
