Quality over quantity
At this moment, the team has a very strong breeding loft with 17 pairs of breeders. Among them are a 2nd, 6th, 11th national ace pigeon speed and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 6th, 6th provincial ace pigeons speed. The entire first round of young birds 2023 from the breeders is exceptionally offered on PITTS. Unlike previous years, only 1 round of young (2nd round) is kept for personal use instead of 2. The focus in 2023 is completely on the competition with the old pigeons.
For this, the team has 20 pairs of racing pigeons that are mainly played on total widowhood. Some partners of the very best old birds remain at home so that they don't always have to wait for their partner upon return. By playing with both sexes, each pigeon is thoroughly tested and fewer pigeons need to be kept. Specialization is necessary if you want to shine in the pigeon sport as a hobby player (full-time working man with a family of 2 growing teenagers). It should be noted that Kristof is solely responsible for the complete care of the loft.
The breeding structure: The “Ernest” family and the contribution of the Van den Abbeel – Van Paesschen blood.
The parents of Ernest (2273606/14 x 2001336/13) can be classified as a unique breeding pair. Not only do the offspring perform fantastically, but also the (great) grandchildren.
3 children and 1 grandchild of this pair are co-winners of the 1st national championship speed 2020 and 2nd national championship speed 2022!
The 606/14 was purchased at an online auction from Geert Van Roy (Asse) in 2016 and had the following achievements on its record: 1st Souppes 203 d/24th Pajot 1280 d, 3rd Souppes 250 d/43rd Pajot 3083 d, 3rd Souppes 223 d/14th Pajot 1362 d, 4th Souppes 454 d/11th Pajot 3133 d, 5th Souppes 285 d/25th Pajot 1695 d, 5th Souppes 236 d/14th Pajot 1535 d, 7th Chateauroux 263 d/46th nat. zone 3653 d. This doffer comes from an inbreeding of Kleine Dirk (Koopman) x sister of the black Olympiad (1st Olympiad Nitra and also 3rd national ace pigeon).
The 336/13 was bred by Frans Cornet. The father was purchased at the auction of Thierry Defrene (Onoz) and won the 1st semi national in Chateauroux. The mother is a granddaughter of the founding father (113/08) of Frans Cornet, who himself flew 13 times 1st prize without duplications while being several minutes ahead.
The “Milan” (551/14) is a full brother of 336/13 and thus the uncle of Ernest. Milan became 11th national ace pigeon and 2nd provincial ace pigeon. He still shines in the breeding loft. Milan is, among other things, the father of 742/16 (2nd provincial ace pigeon) and grandfather of 145/19 (6th national ace pigeon).
