One year ago, we could already read a report about Frederik & Matthias regarding their auction of 12 young doffers at Pitts. This year, this combination has had another top season and has therefore decided to bring a strictly selected group of 12 pigeons with flying performances to auction again.
The fact that Frederik and Matthias strive to offer quality was already confirmed after their first auction last year by H. Ulijn & Zn. from Berghem (Netherlands). They bought 2 young doffers at their auction last year.
- BE22-2098545 (Grandson of Ona) became a father in his first breeding year of a 1st prize in the division against no less than 14,000 pigeons at Chimay (210 km). Additionally, he was also the father of Chimay 11/6952, Laon 13/5994, Sens 17/2950. You will find a half-sister of this doffertje under purchase 12 of this auction.
- BE22-2098548 (Grandson of Ona & New George) became a father in his first breeding year of the 3rd ace pigeon of young pigeons in urban Oss. This doffer also became the full brother of FiOna, who was the 19th Nat. Ace pigeon Speed yearling KBDB 2023. A half-brother on the father’s side can be found under purchase 1, and a half-brother on the mother’s side under purchase 6.
A brief look back
Frederik Motton and Matthias Coel met each other 17 years ago through the pigeon sport. There was an immediate connection between these two young men, leading to increasingly intense contact. Almost all pigeon plans were discussed, resulting in a very quick exchange of pigeons. Given the blind trust between these friends and the circumstances permitting it, Frederik and Matthias decided in 2018 to merge their 2 breeding lofts. This resulted in the two best halves of each breeding loft coming together, dramatically increasing quality all at once. Now they breed under the name Motton-Coel, and the young pigeons are beautifully distributed every spring across the two locations Hélécine and Boortmeerbeek.
Since the merging of the breeding lofts, beautiful results have already been achieved:

Building the breeding loft
"ONA" line
In 2020, it was decided not to sell Ona upon winning her title of 8th Nat. Ace pigeon GHF Yearling but to give the breeding loft a quality injection. Matthias and Frederik had a strategy in mind to do joint breeding with various top pigeons to anchor Ona in their breeding loft, as well as to introduce new 'top blood'. She has since been coupled with
- Invictus from Derwa-Luxem (the current top breeder – father and grandfather of 1st National)
- Den Brave from Tom & Jan Iwens (Half-brother of 1st Nat. Argenton and son of their top breeder Vici)
- Tiësto’s Hero from Davy Tournelle (Himself 13th Nat. Ace pigeon GHF old and full brother of Tiësto’s Lady (3rd Nat. Ace pigeon GHF old in the same year)
- Rinus from Veulemans-Perilleux (1st Nat. La Souterraine in 2016)
- Vici from Tom & Jan Iwens (the absolute top breeder at Tom & Jan and father of 1st Nat. Argenton)
- (In 2023) The Stuntman from Lossignol Michel (This doffer has won a long list of honorary prizes and has already fathered the 30th Nat. Ace pigeon <1/2 Fond Yearlings).
The offspring from these pairings have all moved directly to the breeding loft, and the list of breeding results from Ona becomes more and more impressive each year. Last year we noted on her photo that she was already (grand)mother of 15 prizes per 100. Barely one year later, we can adjust this to (grand)mother of 14 pure first prizes and 33 prizes per 100 (in other words, more than a doubling within one year). The most beautiful reference is undoubtedly the fact that she became the grandmother of FiOna, who, just like herself, has achieved a national ace pigeon title, namely 19th Nat. Ace pigeon Speed yearling 2023.
Olympiad line
In 2018, "New George" won the 9th Olympiad category sport B 2018. Since that year, the parents (the doffer from this pair is 100% Herbots Brothers and a son of 'George' who became 9th Nat. Ace pigeon at GHF) have been coupled with a hen from our old stamdoffer Jonge Hufkens x Priscilla Vinci (= Derwa-Luxem pigeon from Invictus x Priscilla) kept together during the winter breeding, resulting in the following outcomes:

New George is now, among other things, the father of the 7th Nat. La Souterraine 14315 young pigeons and grandfather of the 19th Nat. Ace pigeon Speed Yearling KBDB 2023.
Miss George will join the breeding loft this coming breeding season. Last winter, Frederik paired his 5 old hens in the flying loft (including Miss George) to hopefully learn something already. Two daughters were rung from her, both of which won a 1st prize in 2023 as young pigeons and are ready to start the 2024 season.
All these pigeons are currently in the breeding loft along with many full brothers and sisters who have also flown several top prizes.
Derwa-Luxem line
That the third line comes from Derwa-Luxem will not surprise anyone. As family friends of Albert and Francine, it is only logical that many pigeons from Albert and Francine are in Frederik and Matthias's lofts.
Along with many descendants of Invictus, Davinia, and Paulien, Frederik and Matthias have also had the honor to place a top couple (Derwa couple) in their breeding loft.
The Derwa couple is now the parent of:

From this couple, many brothers and sisters have been bred, all of whom are also placed directly in the breeding loft.
In addition to the Derwa couple, the children from Davinia also perform top with, among others, 1st Prov. Bourges in Walloon Brabant and this year 2 Prov. Bourges (after loft mate) and various other 1st prize winners. In purchase 3 of the sale, you can find a granddaughter of Davinia, the new star of Herent at Albert Derwa-Luxem.
Crossbreeding material
To bring some variation to the breeding loft, these 3 lines have been supplemented in recent years with pigeons from: Veulemans-Perilleux, Van Avondt Danny & Nick, the late Florent Materne, Limbourg Erik, Tournelle Davy, Berendsen Bob, Iwens Jan & Tom, and recently also Lossignol Michel.
