I would like to introduce myself with a few key words that clarify who I am, how I am, and what I stand for.
POSITIVISM
It is important that we promote the sport of pigeon racing in a positive way, with an emphasis on the sporting and the social aspects. Problems should be solved internally through dialogue and not through conflicts on social media.
RESPECT
Board members, transporters, release coordinators, enthusiasts big and small all deserve respect for the efforts they make. Respect also for the winners, as envy is often the beginning of problems.
FAIRNESS
Pigeon racing with equal opportunities for everyone is a utopia, but we can strive to approach this as closely as possible. Wind, mass, and location too often determine the outcome; we have no influence over that, but there are plenty of other options we need to consider.
STRUCTURE
A clear national structure with national regulations that apply to everyone. Where you live is where you participate. It is no longer defensible that some are excluded everywhere while others can participate in seven locations weekly. To permit or not permit port pigeons? There are arguments for both, but it should be uniform for the entire country.
INNOVATION
We should not innovate just for the sake of innovation, but we must keep up with the times. Important steps have already been taken with the registration system, the automatic calculation of championships, and the new mutation system. I look forward to what possibilities modern technology will offer us in the future.
THE FOUNDATION
The foundation of the sport of pigeon racing still remains the sprint locations. We must maintain these for as long as possible, as any location that ceases to exist also results in enthusiasts stopping. Profitability is secondary; the sporting aspect must take precedence over the financial.
