KBDB Announcement:
Dear members,
As you have undoubtedly heard, we are facing a heatwave in the coming week. In France, several departments have already been placed under a red alert for multiple days.
According to weather maps, morning temperatures for Saturday, August 16 are predicted to be between 25 and 30 °C, rising above 35 °C during the day. Combined with a northeastern wind, this creates the ideal recipe for difficult and risky flights with young pigeons over these distances. Additionally, transport to the release site on Friday would need to take place under excessive temperatures.
After consultation with the chairpersons of the PE’s/SPE’s, it has been decided to implement the following calendar changes:
The national race from Argenton, organized by KBDB, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, is canceled and replaced by a new national race from Bourges on Saturday, August 23. Following this, the existing calendar will be adhered to. Further communication regarding the provincial race calendars for the weekend of Saturday 23 will follow later on a provincial basis.
During the weekend of August 16 and 17, only sprint races are permitted, meaning only races with one night basket. The maximum number of pigeons in the baskets must be reduced by 10%.
From Wednesday, August 13 through Friday, August 15, no training or race flights will be allowed.
We rely on your understanding of these measures, which are taken in the interest of the welfare of our pigeons.
With sporting regards.
The National President, The Chairperson of the NSC,
Pascal Bodengien. Denis Sapin.
