Important Notice – Timely Payment and Collection of Purchased Pigeons

Dear fanciers,

We continue to observe that a significant number of pigeons remain unpaid after our auctions, or are paid for but not collected in a timely manner. This situation causes practical and organizational difficulties for both Pitts and the sellers.

We therefore wish to once again explicitly draw everyone’s attention to the buyer’s conditions, which are accepted by every bidder when participating in our auctions.

Payment

In accordance with our conditions, all purchased pigeons must be fully paid before collection or delivery.

Pigeons for which no payment is received:

  • will not be delivered;

  • remain the incontestable property of Pitts;

  • may be re-auctioned in a “non-delivered collection”;

  • the buyer will be placed on a blacklist and excluded from future auctions;

  • furthermore, judicial debt collection may be initiated.

Collection and deadlines

For paid pigeons, timely collection or delivery according to the agreed arrangements is also mandatory.

If a pigeon is not collected within 60 days after the end of the auction (by the buyer or a courier), Pitts will:

  • automatically terminate the sales agreement;

  • refund any amounts already paid, minus:

    • service costs,

    • accommodation costs,

    • and a compensation of 25% of the bid amount (minimum €50.00);

  • charge accommodation costs of €1.00 per pigeon per day, starting from the 15th day after the auction ends;

  • re-auction the pigeon in a “non-delivered collection”.

Why this matters

Pigeons that remain uncollected require care, space, and administration, resulting in additional costs. This situation is also unfair to sellers, who expect a correct and timely settlement of their sales.

Our request

We therefore strongly urge all buyers to:

  • settle their payments immediately and correctly;

  • collect their pigeons as soon as possible or arrange delivery without delay;

  • contact our team in time should any issues or questions arise.

A smooth and timely payment and collection process is in everyone’s interest and ensures the professional operation of our auctions.
