With the flagship "Waldico," the doors to the National top were forcefully opened.
Colfontaine, located in the province of Hainaut, south of the provincial capital Mons. This small municipality has a history primarily in mining. It is here that we find the home base of the man-woman tandem Henry-Blanc. From a young age, Jean-François (Henry) was fascinated by the pigeon sport. However, it was only 20 years ago, when he met his wife Brigitte (Blanc), that the dream became a reality.
This man/woman tandem started with a few pigeons, mainly focused on sprint races. Thanks to the wise advice from experienced champions and a relentless drive in the search for better pigeons, the tandem quickly achieved good results in the sprint races.
Over the years, the tandem then focused on the long middle distance where, despite a small colony, the results are impressive. A preliminary highlight was achieved in 2023 with a magnificent third place in the national ranking of the ace pigeons thanks to “Waldico.” A true white raven among the pigeons, which has now become a key breeder of the colony, thus continuing the line of champions. A grandson won this year’s Interprovincial race from Vierzon and was also the fastest pigeon of the release against 9,242 competitors!
This small yet high-quality auction of the sympathetic tandem Henry-Blanc largely revolves around their flying wonder “Waldico.” What this powerhouse has flown together can be summarized in one powerful French term: “Incroyable!”
