Frederik De Wolf from East Flanders Oudegem is gradually becoming an established name at the provincial and national level. After achieving 2nd National Chateauroux in 2020, 1st Provincial Asduif Heavy Middle Distance yearlings KBDB and 7th Provincial Asduif Heavy Middle Distance young KBDB in 2021, and 9th Provincial Asduif Long Distance yearlings KBDB in 2023, he attained 1st & 2nd Provincial Limoges this year, also good for 6th & 8th National! Additionally, there were several top rankings at the national and regional level in heavy middle distance and long distance. All promising signs to continue this in 2025. Along with a very strong base crossed with top lines from other lofts, this creates the perfect cocktail for a true all-round pigeon.
The stunt at Limoges
At Limoges, 14 hens were entered, of which 7 were yearlings and 7 were older. A small number, but enough to leave the East Flanders convoy behind.
The 1st and 2nd provincial (6th and 8th national!) are 2 hens that flew Toury a few times as young pigeons but never national. Both hens are grandchildren of the Provincial Asduif Heavy Middle Distance 2021 x 2nd Provincial Asduif Allround 2020.
The 1st Provincial Limoges comes from a daughter (757/21) of the previous pair and was paired with the "Martin" (already the father of 2nd Nat. Chateauroux). This hen is certainly not new to flying. She previously flew 12th National Zone on Tulle. The 2nd provincial comes from the nest brother (758/21) of the mother of the 1st Provincial Limoges and was paired with “Magda” (among others already the grandmother of 1st National Libourne). Knowing that full brothers flew to Sancoins (8th Provincial) and Argenton (47th, 58th, and 63rd Provincial) also topped, the saying "the apple does not fall far..." really applies here.
The 4th Provincial Old is again a hen that comes from a doffer of “Vandenheede F&J” paired with a daughter of the 4th National Limoges of Martin De Vijlder. This top hen’s results are incredible, 1st prizes from Quiévrain to Limoges!
Racing team on total widowhood
The racing team is played on total widowhood to avoid holding too many other pigeons. These pigeons are paired in mid-January, and the eggs from the breeders are exchanged, which they raise. The young from the best flyers are kept. The intention with this racing team is mainly to compete in the national flights of heavy middle distance and long distance. The hens go weekly in the basket and the doffers every 14 days or 3 weeks.
The system for the hens is fairly simple; they are trained voluntarily once a day. Daily this is a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes, and in the last 2 weeks, this increased to an hour. It became clear that their form was rising. Once on the roof, they are called in and receive "full basket" food. They are fed once a day. Care is taken to ensure they eat everything. After the meal, extra grit and minerals are served. After an hour, the pan is taken away and the feeding board is lowered again.
For the pigeons' nutrition, trust is given to the "Aidi" mixtures. The hens receive 90% of the time the Girl Power mixture during the week. After the flight, they get Mix 3, and on Sundays, they receive Mix 1.
As young pigeons, they must gain a lot of experience. The goal is always 2 national flights, and these are played on the sliding door. They have a large run for the lofts from which they can explore everything as young pigeons and spend time outdoors daily.

Every pigeon enthusiast is looking for the ultimate breeding pigeon. This was found at the total sale of Erwin De Landsheer in 2014. The "311" had everything to become a successful breeder, and as an extra, this pigeon also has an exceptional pedigree. This is indeed a 100% Marcel Aelbrecht pigeon.

Over the years, a good collaboration has developed with Gino Clicque. Annually, a group of young pigeons from Gino is raced in Oudegem. That this quality injection also impacts the results goes without saying:
