By the banks of the Scheldt, we find the East Flemish municipality of Temse, still a real green lung where it's nice for walkers and cyclists. Here you will also find the home base of a true Quiévrainist: Frankie De Gendt. For years, he has been the man to beat in his favorite game. Severe selection results in a strain of pigeons that have elevated winning to a form of art but also a strain that achieves towering prize percentages. This mix of top prizes and high prize percentages makes Frankie a recurring client at various championships, both locally, in Waasland, provincially, and at the national level. Last season, Frankie managed to classify again at the highest competition level, both with the young and the old. Few can present these results!

These ace pigeons now run like a red thread through Frankie’s current colony. And form the basis for the future. Here we also want to elaborate on the pigeons that have flown these titles together.

This wonder hen flew no less than 17 times 1st prize and 67 times in the top 10!! This year she managed to rank 4th provincially and 7th nationally. But also in the 2020 season, she was already classified as the 11th national ace pigeon sprint. It is rare for pigeons to manage to classify twice in their careers in the national sprint championships. What makes her even more unique is that she achieves this title at the age of 6 against much younger competitors. Unseen! Also in the renowned Golden Ring competition of Waasland, she scores with 3 x gold and 1 x silver outstanding.
That this hen is no stranger to winning is clear. Her grandmother (612/16, "Fast 612") was already the 12th National Ace Pigeon Sprint KBDB '20 and flew 14 times 1st prize and 60 times in the top 10. The apple clearly doesn't fall far from the tree; moreover, her offspring seem to have inherited her winning. A grandchild wins this year the title 3rd National Ace Pigeon Young Sprint KBDB '24!!
