The Limburg Fond & Marathon Club (LFMC) has successfully completed its first year. Evidence of this can be seen in the many positive reactions. “That is why we are keeping the current formula,” said chairman Jacky Creemers at the latest meeting of the fond club.
It was no simple task that the LFMC imposed on itself after folding the Limburg Fond Club and Marathon Club. The board members set the bar high with numerous new initiatives such as the “Pigeon Fancier of the Month,” prominent Limburgers at the departure of the Derby flight Orléans, and broader championships. Jacky Creemers: “We have represented ourselves well as a fond club in this new formula and want to continue in this vein. Optimism is key, I would say. This year we have received exceptional support from a group of sponsors, with top contributors being Horta and Het Belang van Limburg.”
Champions Celebration
The champions celebration of the Limburg fond club will take place on Saturday, December 14, in the De Kwint hall in Zonhoven, and not in the Tentakel hall (where a carnival party is scheduled that evening). In De Kwint, a buffet will be offered, along with entertainment and projection on a large screen. In connection with the championships, there is also anticipation for next year, possibly including the crowning of the overall champion of semi-fond, heavy semi-fond, and fond, which will only apply to marathon flights in 2024. Furthermore, the LFMC website (fondclublimburg.be) will be further developed into a useful tool with all possible information, especially since the fond club is becoming increasingly digital, and correspondence via mail will gradually move to the background.
The champions celebration will take place on Saturday, December 14, starting at 4 PM in the De Kwint hall in Zonhoven. Participation in the warm buffet costs 30 euros per person, registration until December 7 via bank transfer to BE49 3350 2746 3271.
