The annual "pigeon show" of the pigeon club Mol took place much later in 2025 than in previous years. It used to be an end-of-year event.
This time we could count on 23 enthusiasts and 70 pigeons.
The number of pigeons was deliberately kept low by offering only 2 categories (males and females), with a maximum of 2 pigeons per category.
In previous years, it was always 4 categories, and we consistently ended up with more than 100 pigeons, which really made the judging process (too) long.
This time, 2 times 5 “prizes” were chosen by recognized judges, leading to a total of 10 winners.
The big winner was undoubtedly Staf Beneens (Dessel) with the most beautiful pigeon of all, a female pigeon that, of course, also won in her own category. With only 2 pigeons in the competition, Staf also clinched the 2nd place among the males. A great result, well done!
In the female category, Roger Engelen came in 2nd and Jan Kaers 3rd on the podium. Comb. Faes – Wils secured 4th place and Juul Geukens 5th.
The winner among the males was Patrick Claes, followed by Staf Beneens, and VADER Hugo Kaers was asked to the podium in 3rd place. Anna and Gust Verstricht took 4th place, and Juul Geukens also here at number 5.
The supporters immediately mentioned that the female of SON Jan and the male of FATHER Hugo should be paired together, BUT… it turned out they were brother and sister!!! Coincidence? Class? Definitely 2 “beautiful pigeons.” Juul Geukens was also able to pair his 2 prize winners! Whether this will be possible, I really do not know. Juul… make the right choice, okay!
The non-prize winners were also surprised with a “lotto draw” where 9 enthusiasts received a consolation prize and 1 SUPER winner was drawn.
The lucky ones were Gebr. Hooybergs. The Foets family and our board not only thought of the winners and non-winners but also arranged a beautiful prize table that provided each winner with an extra treat. In addition, there were sandwiches and cake for everyone.
It's worth mentioning... At the award ceremony, many enthusiasts came to support the Molse club and enjoyed a nice drink or something similar. Thank you to all present, and those who were absent were certainly wrong.
