The first national race from Bourges last weekend did not go particularly smoothly for the majority of fanciers... Several of the big names, let’s say 'specialists' with the young pigeons, faced difficulties and managed to bring home their pigeons only sparingly. But in Zwevegem, the young pigeon team of Willem Deprez-Bataille had a completely different perspective, showcasing a strong display of their ability in this tough race:
In NKV Kortrijk against 1,321 young pigeons, the results were as follows:
6-7-20-20-38-50-52-98-107-119-142-147-149-185-215-216-218-221-222-225-247-278-305-313-327-348-349-349-373-380-382-415
This results in 10 per ten and as many as 32 out of 40 entered pigeons per three!
Provincially in West Flanders, they set the following series against 5,074 young pigeons:
11-13-42-42-81-110-113-225-266-299-375-379-381-531-618-620-622-637-643-653-716-873-962-995-1097-1197-1205-1205-1273-1290-1298-1425-1692, or 13 per ten and 33 out of 40 per three!
Also noteworthy was a great result zonally against 4,224 pigeons, where they ranked 25/40 per four:
9-11-48-48-93-129-131-243-279-315-394-398-400-535-619-621-623-632-638-647-705-823-899-920-998
It is also worth mentioning that 12 young pigeons came from good friend and half-fond virtuoso Gert Van Limbergen from Lede. Of those, 9 have now ranked in this first test from Bourges.
A proof that oil always rises to the top! Congratulations!
