After the sudden turnaround at the De Keyser household, where Mario had to stop with the pigeons on medical advice, the total sale of this colony followed out of necessity at the end of 2023.
Son Benjamin, who in the past had too little time to really engage with the pigeons, found it disappointing and decided at the last moment to buy back a few pigeons from the auction. After some discussion, they ultimately decided to continue building on his father’s legacy with a limited number of breeding pigeons.
Mario himself, who due to health reasons is no longer allowed to have contact with the pigeons, only takes care of the administration while Benjamin is responsible for their daily care.
Every year, they seek out new top material to strengthen their breeding loft, and as is customary, all the youngsters from these breeding pigeons will be offered via Pitts, which will take place in four parts this autumn.
