The end of the racing season for our pigeons marks the beginning of a new auction winter for Pitts, and it promises to be an impressive one, building on the strong foundation of previous years. With our increasingly stringent auction selection, we continually strive for even more quality and potential. In the coming months, a wide selection of breeding pigeons, racing pigeons, and young pigeons will be offered, each of which can add significant value to any loft.
The first auctions will kick off this Monday, September 16, following the well-known process:
- Auction start: Every Monday around 9:30 PM
- Auction duration: One or two weeks, depending on the seller's choice
- Auction end: Every Monday between 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM
- Home delivery or pick-up in Lede (East Flanders) or Heusden (Limburg)
What's new?
- Our viewing days in Lede will now begin at 4:00 PM this year to avoid the heavy traffic in the evening and ensure that the pigeons can be viewed in a calm manner. We hope this change will help us reach an even larger audience.
- Upon completing your purchase, an additional fee of €5.00 (incl. VAT) per purchased pigeon will be charged. This will be listed as an "administration fee" at checkout. Don’t be alarmed—this is an extra service we are offering:
- All pigeons will immediately be presented to a certified veterinarian upon arrival for an additional Paramyxo vaccination. This ensures that when you pick up or receive your purchase, you are 100% sure they have been recently and correctly vaccinated, saving you a trip to your vet.
- Additionally, all pigeons will be checked and, if necessary, treated for the most common diseases: trichomoniasis, coccidiosis, and worms. This saves you another vet visit, allowing you to introduce your new pigeons to your lofts with peace of mind.
- Young pigeon auctions: Due to their age, weaned young pigeons will NOT be vaccinated against Paramyxo by the seller and will not be vaccinated at Pitts either for the same reason. BUT if the young pigeons are not immediately picked up by the buyer or cannot be delivered for any reason, they WILL be vaccinated against Paramyxo and given a standard treatment for trichomoniasis, coccidiosis, and worms. As with adult pigeon auctions, an additional cost of €5.00 per pigeon will be charged to the buyer. Buyers who pick up or have their young pigeons delivered at the scheduled times will have this fee refunded.
Bidding
To place a bid, you must always be logged in! This brings several benefits:
- When logged in, your details will be automatically filled in when you place a bid → you no longer need to enter them manually every time.
- You no longer need to confirm your bid via email; as soon as you click "Place Bid," your bid is registered → you won’t miss any bids because of having to confirm through your email account first.
- To log in, you must first register on our website. You can always do so via this link.
With just a few clicks, you can complete your purchase, process the payment, and provide delivery or pick-up details through "My Account."
