The year 2024 started excellently in January for the NPO and pigeon sport.
A successful Olympiad at the MECC Maastricht was responsible for this.
We can look back on a successful event. Everything was right from a sporting, organizational, and financial perspective.
The opening was performed by Governor Roemer, our youth ambassador Dani van Lier, and the elder statesman of Dutch pigeon sport Hans Eijerkamp.
The veterinary congress was a success and confirmed, thanks to the WOWD, that the Netherlands is internationally leading in scientific research on pigeon welfare.
The event, fair, and exhibition attracted an international audience, and the visitor numbers exceeded expectations.
The award ceremonies and gala evening were a success.
The NPO was also the host for the biennial FCI congress.
The MECC Maastricht offered excellent and representative facilities under one roof for the various activities surrounding the Olympiad.
We managed to offer enthusiasts from home and abroad a few wonderful days filled with plenty of pigeon enjoyment, and we have put pigeon sport and the NPO well on the map, even internationally.
Our enthusiasts received a beautiful Olympiad book as a tangible memory.
Congratulations to the enthusiasts who had the honor of representing the Netherlands at the Olympiad.
