18-06-224 Announcement regarding the race from Cahors on 15/06/24
EXCEPTIONAL circumstances require EXCEPTIONAL decisions!
The weather gods have not been favorable to us lately, and the start of the season has thus been jeopardized.
The pigeons from Cahors were brought closer to Roye due to the unfavorable weather conditions at the location and the first several hundred kilometers of the journey.
Considering the good weather conditions at the release site in Roye, the release of the pigeons began yesterday in small groups. The weather was favorable on the home front from West Flanders, and ultimately, good weather would also reach the eastern part of our country.
However, for the eastern provinces, such as Liège and Limburg, it was already too late to release at that moment.
These pigeons will be brought back to the participating clubs today.
Incomplete crates with pigeons were organized by the arranger, as with all long-distance and major distance races, before departure to the release site in Cahors.
These pigeons will also be out-caged today in a humane manner and placed in crates per club to be delivered to the participating clubs.
All these pigeons received the best care (drinking and feeding).
Both the organizer and the KBDB have attempted to ensure that the pigeons reach their lofts safely.
Hopefully, summer will finally start in a few days.
The national president,
Pascal Bodengien.

18-06-2024 Announcement races weekend 22 & 23 June 2024
Dear enthusiasts,
Dear clubs,
Considering the unfavorable weather forecasts for the weekend of 22 & 23 June 2024, it was requested from the carriers to postpone the registrations on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday by one day in the interest of the welfare of our pigeons. The releases would then also be carried out one day later.
The majority of carriers disagreed with this for logistical reasons.
We, as KBDB, regret that they do not want to go along with our story.
Best regards.
The national president, The president of the NSC,
Pascal Bodengien. Denis Sapin.

16-06-2024 Announcement regarding the national race from CAHORS on 15/06/2024
Dear,
Considering the current weather conditions at the location in Cahors, it is impossible to release the pigeons.
The unfavorable weather forecasts for the coming days in and around Cahors, as well as on the various flightlines, will mean that if there is a release, it cannot take place before next Wednesday (19/06/2024).
At the request of the organizer, Cureghem Centre, and in consultation with the KBDB (the national president and the chairman of the national sports committee), it was decided, in the interest of the welfare of the participating pigeons in this race, to bring the pigeons closer to the Franco-Belgian border, hoping to be able to release them there tomorrow (in small groups).
Further information will follow!
In accordance with Article 52 of the NSR, the race from Cahors is canceled.
The president of the NSC,
Denis Sapin.
