12-04-24 Announcement of the advisory committee PE East Flanders.
The management of PE East Flanders wishes to inform you that an advisory committee has been established consisting of 4 associations/individuals, 1 from each region of PE East Flanders.
You can contact these individuals, as well as the representatives of the PE, if you have proposals or suggestions to enhance the pigeon racing experience in East Flanders in the best possible way.
- Johan De Vroe: Central-West East Flanders (Union et Liberté, Merelbeke)
- Patrick Daelman: Waasland region ( Recht voor Allen, Sint-Gillis-Waas)
- Patrick De Sy: Western Line East Flanders ( Recht en Vooruit, Bassevelde)
- Geert Schotte: Central Line East Flanders ( De Vrijheid, Ophasselt) (substituting in case of absence, Jannick Jalet.)
They hold a brief meeting monthly and pass on their findings regarding what is happening to the management of the PE. These matters are collected and included in the agenda of the next board meeting. These matters may be included in preparation for the 2025 season.
The advisory committee wants to emphasize that it serves only as an advisory body and that decisions will still be made by the Provincial board.
The first point that was examined is the possibility of organizing training flights from Niergnies, Noyon, and Ecouen. This for the South East Flanders region. (training flight from Quiévrain +/- 40 km)
The following dates would be visited as training flights during the week:
Old and yearlings:
- Wednesday 24/04: Noyon
- Wednesday 01/05: Ecouen
Young pigeons:
- Wednesday 05/06: Niergnies
- Wednesday 12/06: Niergnies
- Wednesday 19/06: Niergnies or Noyon (depending on the preparation of the 2 previous training flights)
- Wednesday 03/07: Noyon
- Wednesday 10/07: Noyon
- Wednesday 17/07: Noyon
- Wednesday 24/07: Noyon
- Wednesday 31/07: Noyon
- Wednesday 07/08: Noyon
We are in full consultation with feeder Wybo to outline a possible pickup round with him.
Small Half Fond:
We will move to Toury instead of Sermaises.
The reason for this is that the other provinces that conducted releases there in previous years (Flemish Brabant and Antwerp) will take precedence during the releases. This means that East Flanders would be the 4th release.
We cannot do this to our East Flemish enthusiasts, constantly putting the pigeons under stress by letting them be the last to depart.
We also want to remind everyone that no carried pigeons will be accepted on the KHF flights.
This is due to the 2 large unions that were established for the Western Line and the Central Line, to give East Flemish enthusiasts the chance to compete nationally in the championships.
It is also only allowed to enter in 1 local area (Western Line/Central Line), both for Old/yearlings and young pigeons, given the organization of the aforementioned unions.
As soon as we have more information regarding the training flights, this will be communicated in due time.
On behalf of PE East Flanders
