Dadizele, a village in Moorslede located in the province of West Flanders. One of the most well-known and remarkable sights is the Our Lady of Dadizele, an important pilgrimage site with an imposing basilica. The famous garden center “Floralux” can also be found here.
Dadizele is also the home of the man/woman tandem Ignace Ameel and Sabine Vanlake, a duo far from unknown in our coastal province. For several years in a row, they have gained considerable recognition in the pigeon racing world through their performances. Their preference mainly lies with the long-distance and fond races. Since 2013, Ignace and Sabine have achieved no less than 15 zonal victories!
This year, they again scored 14 first prizes from Fontenay to Souillac, highlighted by the 1st Provincial, 1st Zonal, and 7th National Argenton II against 8,867 pigeons. This pigeon named “Seppe” was the 11th fastest in the entire convoy of 20,044 pigeons that day.
The father of “Seppe” was directly taken to the breeding loft. In his bloodline, we find among others “Pinokkio,” another flying wonder from Dadizele. This “Pinokkio” won 1st National Gueret and twice achieved 1st Provincial. Additionally, his father performed excellently in the heavy fond with, among others, a 79th National Montélimar, 864th International Marseille, 479th National Agen, and 559th National Valence.
The mother of “Seppe” is an inbred from “Ronaldo” (a 100% Vlaeminck Hugo pigeon). This “Ronaldo” was among others 2nd National Ace Pigeon Large Half Fond KBDB and won three times 1st Provincial. This mother of “Seppe” is also an outstanding breeding pigeon with offspring that have already won 4th Clermont 634 pigeons, 13th Clermont 737 pigeons, and 39th Bourges 1,341 pigeons.
That this combination works well was also proven with 'Marcel' (a full brother of 'Seppe'), who has already flown 2 first prizes.
