It becomes more and more clear every year: no one needs to teach this tandem how to race pigeons. Those who thought Alex Allemeersch and Corry Van Parys had reached their limits had to revise their opinion again this year. Grand performances with few pigeons: they proved it once more in 2022!
How it started
After several years of supporting successful father Andre, Corry and Alex caught the pigeon racing bug. Mother Juliette also had a good grasp of the sport in the past. She especially made a name for herself in sprint races for several years. Initially, Alex wanted to breed only young pigeons that could be tested at other lofts, but Corry wanted to participate in races. For the first 5 years, they only competed with young pigeons to learn "the art of pigeon racing."
Corry and Alex taught themselves everything because they did not want to be tied down by old dogmas in pigeon racing. Many books were devoured, but especially through experimentation, they were able to make great strides forward. Everything was tried to arrive at a way of racing that was uniquely theirs. For example, they chose to compete with a limited, highly selected flying team at the start of each season.
The foundation of the pigeons at Allemeersch-Van Parys includes pigeons from Alex Uiterwijk (NL), Marcel Aelbrecht (line "den kleinen Aelbrecht", "den uitbreker", "leeuwke", "spreeuwke"), Albert Derwa (bloodline "Albert"), De Saer A&R (bloodline "geschelpte stier" and "de genaaiden"), Meulemans, Desmet-Matthijs, Andre Laurent, Casaert, Dierickx-Visschers, and a few pigeons from father Andre Allemeersch (bloodline "de poitiers", 729 "de fijnen" or "topperke").
Good pigeons also came from Freialdenhoven & Sohne (D) (bloodline "de kletskop"). With descendants like "Julien", "Super 57", "kletskop 38", etc.… They introduced "Son Provinciaalke" from David Vermassen (with descendants like "Juliette", 501, 502, 279…), a hen from Peter Bours (with offspring "het bruintje") and a hen from A. Tobaja "TGV" with "Monique" as the main daughter. A hen from Jan Van De Moortel also produced top descendants like "227-21" and granddaughters "kruisbekje" and "779-22".
The numbers speak for themselves
Every year, the 15 breeding pairs produce about 40 young pigeons and a group of around 15 widowers competes in national flights.
In 2018, there were quite a few losses among the young pigeons, and Alex and Corry were left with only about 10 young pigeons at the start of the season, yet they managed to be crowned 4th Champion of young pigeons in the Interwest Flemish region:

In 2019, the 2 best long-distance pigeons "Uno" and "de Kletskop" went to the breeding loft. Racing only started in June with just about 12 old and 16 young pigeons. Yet they still achieved respectable results:

The prize percentages were consistently 50% or more.
