In 2024, Bert Van den Berghe from Wortegem-Petegem became National Champion KBDB Long Distance Old Birds. The basis of his success? A carefully developed breeding family with inbreeding to top names such as Gaby Vandenabeele, Vandenheede, Platteeuw, Florea Sorin and especially Jan Hooymans.
