Martin est un colombophile reconnu du club de fond de Kortemark. Il remporte chaque année les plus hautes distinctions et obtient régulièrement d'excellents résultats au niveau provincial, voire national. Ses pigeons sont principalement sélectionnés pour les courses de très grand fond, mais ils excellent également sur des distances plus courtes.
